A Melrose Colonial, Clean and Warm
Scope: Full-Service Interior Design
Before
Freshly moved in with a baby girl, this Melrose couple wanted furniture that made the most of every inch of their new colonial. Their style leans a little more contemporary, with a clean look at the top of the list... but Blissful Interiors still brought in warm colors and layers to keep things interesting. We designed the living room, the office/sunroom just off it, plus the dining room.

After
In the living room, a clean-lined sofa is layered with pillows in navy, mustard and teal, alongside a pair of cream armchairs and a round wood coffee table. The dining room centers on a custom handmade table, ringed by gray upholstered chairs with brass trim. Custom window treatments in both rooms finish the look, keeping it clean without ever feeling cold. Now a family of four, they have plenty of space to cuddle up in the living room, while the extendable dining table makes room for family and friends whenever they come over.
